Montevideo, Uruguay

Wednesday we docked in Montevideo once more.  We decided not to take the tour we had signed up for so we handed back the tickets as all the tours here are sold out.

We had a light breakfast in La Veranda.  We are still under code red level 2 so no serving yourself.  It makes it kind of slow as they have one person at each station.  And we had to sit all the way front of the room.  Turns out this is where the Captain sits so she stopped and talked with us for about 10 minutes.  A real nice lady.

Back to the suite to work on the Daily Quiz and Bob does more editing of pictures.  Then we went up to swim for one hour.  As we are docked, the water is calm.  Most people are off the ship but some do stay and sun themselves.

In the afternoon, I decided to start to play some of the games.  I want to get enough points to get a new t-shirt for Bob.  They no longer sell them in the shop so you have to earn points to get one.  So today was bowling.  I came in third but that only means I got one point.  Everyone who plays gets one point.  So not big deal.  But it was fun.  No needlepoint as we are docked.

Bob decided to take a walk into town but I stayed on the ship.  He did not take a watch or his cell phone.  But he thought there was a clock on his camera.  There is but it was one hour off.  He cut it close to missing the ship.

There was a cocktail party for the people who booked with Signatures of which Keene Travel is a member so we attended.  The block party was also tonight but we opted to just go the Mariner Lounge and enjoy a real cocktail.  We are having dinner with Tom and Noel from Las Vegas and Montana.  They did the same cruise with us in 2012.  We had a great dinner and great conversation.

On this leg of the cruise, a group of 44 Asian folks came on.  Some are from Indonesia, some from Singapore, and I think, some are from Hong Kong.  They have already consumed 48 bottles of Dom Periome ( sorry for the misspelling) champagne.  And one bottle of red wine that cost $4000.00.  They did get a 10% discount on the wine.  But they have bought all the Dom so none for us to celebrate our 47th.  Too bad.  Not that we would have bought it anyway.  And last night, they all wanted to eat in Prime 7.  That is not possible unless they close it to others.  So some ate there while the others ate in Compass Rose.  Last night they had a special Asian dinner.  Regent must be happy with they way they are spending money.

After dinner we came back to the cabin and read for a bit and then lights out.
