Friday we spent the morning at sea and then arrived in Colombia at around noon. We attended the lecture in the morning on what we might see in Colombia. Terry Breen did a commentary while we were sailing into the harbor.
We passed this Colombian sub while we were sailing into the harbor. An interesting vessel.
Cartagena is an interesting city. It is full of high rise building.
And there is still an old lighthouse right on the shore.
This is a statue of the Virgin Mary in the middle of the harbor. The sailors would pass this on their way out to sea and ask for the blessings for a safe return.
The Monistary on the top of the hill .
Asd we were sailing in, the Zenith was docked right next to us. And we saw all these pelicans. Some were on the dock area and others were on the lines.
One flying in to land.
And all of these are sitting on the lines of the ship.
We elected not to tour so we swam in the afternoon while everyone else was off the ship. At around 4 pm the Zenith started blowing its horn. Everyone seemed to be onboard but there were two officers on the dock with the port agent. Another officer brought down what looked like a passport. It seemed that the ship was suppose to sail at 4 pm and a passenger was still not on board. After about 15 minutes, a golf cart drove up and this gentleman with the hat got off. The passengers on the ship all cheered but the police decided to check his bag before allowing him to get on the ship.
Not sure what took him so long to return to the ship and I am sure he was not the most popular passenger that night. But all ended well. The ship dropped their lines and left about 30 minutes late. I do think it cost the ships more money when they do not meet the correct schedule.
Dinner with Harry and Jean in Compass Rose. We were just sitting in the Mariner Lounge having a cocktail and they entered and joined us. Had a nice table for four and good service and food. Then back to the suite to read and lights out.
